Green D.I.Y. Energy

Why pay thousands of dollars for solar energy ($27,000 average cost) when you can build your own solar panel system for just a fraction of the retail cost? You can build a single solar panel, or you can build an entire array of panels to power your whole house.  Read More!

The top 3 renewable energy sources are wind power, solar power and magnetic power. All of these three can allow you to both decrease your carbon footprint and be a good citizen of our planet and to make a handsome profit. In the end, it will be up to you which one of these to choose and whether to go for renewable energy at all.

Wind power – why is it a good option?

Perhaps the best thing about wind power, as with any other renewable energy source is its inexhaustibility. True, the wind can fluctuate and you might be stuck with several days of no wind, but it will be back eventually, and when it is on you make electricity regardless of whether it is day or night.

Some might say that wind power systems are expensive to make, and this is definitely true. They can reach tens of thousands of dollars, if you were to purchase one. But who said that you have to purchase a brand new one? There are DIY guides, which show you how to make your own wind turbines rather easily as long as you have gathered the right materials and instruments and follow the guidance presented in those guides. So, if you are intrigued with the idea of harvesting the wind, then you should definitely look into one of those guides.

Solar power – why would it be a good investment?

Solar power, similar to wind power, or any other renewable energy source for that matter, is absolutely renewable. As long as the sun is shining, you get good amounts of electricity. While this can happen only during the day, it is a safe bet that the sun will be shining on most days and you might even be able to make more power with solar panels that with a wind turbine.

The purpose of this article, however, is not to compare solar and wind power, but to show you how you can make each one work for you. Similar to wind power, solar power installations are rather expensive and you need to look for some way to reduce your costs, if you are to make profit through your system. Again, the best option in this regard is to build your own solar panels, which is quite possible, as there are excellent guides on the market for that purpose. With the proper guide you can reduce the time your solar power installation repays itself significantly and turn this into a rather profitable project.

Magnetic power – why should one consider making a generator?

Magnetic power is probably the least popular of the top three renewable energy sources. So why is not there so much hype about it? Well, it simply does not catch the eye as it is not exposed on your roof. However, it can also be rather profitable.

So what is the best thing about a magnetic power generator? Unlike solar and wind power systems, it is not reliant on natural conditions. Magnetic power, unlike wind and solar power, can be harnessed at all times. All you need to do is to make your magnetic power generator. And here is the somehow difficult part. You need quite some know-how in order to be able to make your own magnetic power generator. But again, with the proper guide, which will take you through the required steps, you will be amazed that in fact it is not that difficult to make a magnetic power generator. If you go for building one, then at the end you will have an inexpensive power source, which will supplement your primary power source.

So, these were the top three renewable energy sources – wind, solar, and magnetic power. All three of them have their strengths, and weaknesses, of course. The common positive trait that they all seem to share, however, is that they can all be made as a DIY project. All you need for that is to invest some time and money into studying the proper step-by-step DIY guide. In case you have decided to go for one of these projects, then the next step would be to check out one of the DIY guides mentioned in the link below.

With the environment in waning shape, everyone is looking for a way to step up and help. There are simple steps which you can take in your everyday life to help which can also benefit you personally in cutting down on your monthly expenses as green renewable energy is cost effective! Making the transition from getting your electricity from power plants to green renewable energy is a major step in getting the ozone and environment back to their former glory, not to mention it can save you money.

The renewable energy wind produces can create enough electricity to power your home and appliances at a fraction of the price you’re paying the power company now. It can even eliminate your power bill altogether. For example, if you live in an especially windy area such as anywhere along the coast, you could produce a surplus of electricity to first power your home all on your own, but you can take any extra electricity which you don’t use and sell it back to the power company for a profit. Many people who do in fact live off the coast have made a decent living with this practice simply by constructing several windmills and attaching them to a generator.

As green renewable energy has been seen as expensive to implement in the past, costing upwards of $3000 to have it professionally installed, many people have not given it a chance. To make it more affordable, environmentalists and resourceful homeowners have taken it upon themselves to put together DIY guides with easy to follow illustrated step by step direction to show how to construct your own working windmill at home at around $200, which is used for parts, some of which you can find laying around your home. Thanks to this, more and more people are beginning to construct their own green renewable energy solutions as the money that most people save in not having to pay their first power bill pays for the parts itself.
